Problem solved - at the double

When Moorlands Nursing Home in Surrey urgently required two new Care Assistants, Caring People Recruitment came up with a speedy, if slightly unusual solution.

Identical Polish twins Magdalena and Marzena Biber had just finished secondary school and were looking for their first jobs. During their studies they had done voluntary work in a hospital and in a social care centre in Poland and they wanted to work together in England.

“Their English was excellent and they clearly had an aptitude for elderly care, so we were very happy to recommend them to Moorlands. They arrived from Poland ready to start work within two weeks,” said Clive Livermore, director of Caring People Recruitment.

Magdalena and Marzena, aged 19, have been a “smash hit” at Moorlands. “They are an absolute delight to have as part of our team,” said Henrietta Buckley, the home’s manager. “The residents and staff all love them – even though we sometimes have a problem knowing which one is which!”

Trains and boats and planes...

It was a case of trains and boats and planes (well, almost) for Valentina Naumenko, who travelled from her native Latvia to a job in Scotland. It meant a bus trip to the airport in Riga, a flight to Stansted, then another flight to Glasgow. Then came a car journey and a ferry across the river before she arrived in Dunoon, where she has been happily working as a care assistant..
