Room Leader – Friern Barnet
- Full Time: 40 Hours per week (Monday to Friday)
- Salary: Approximately £28,000 per annum depending on experience and qualification
- Minimum Level 3 in childcare
An exciting opportunity has come up to work as a Room Leader in a well-established nursery located in Friern Barnet. The nursery is approximately 10 minutes’ walk from Totteridge and Wheatstone tube station on the Northern Line.
The Room Leader will be in charge of the baby room.
The nursery has large outdoor space and woodland and children and staff spend a lot of time outdoors.

Key Qualifications:
- Level 3 qualification in childcare or early years education.
- Must have the knowledge of EYFS; ability to observe, plan, execute for the children and be able to communicate with parents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Duties:
· Assigning daily groups to the staff and informing them of their duties
· Ensure staff use time constructively
· Ensuring staff complete observations, planning and activities
· Organise lunch breaks
· Develop and maintain professional relationship with staff
· Being aware of all the routines of each child in the group (keeping a record of this)
· Being aware of medication/incidents/temperatures
· Each child to be provided with a constructive day at nursery i.e. age appropriate activities
· Ensuring the discipline of children is carried out in accordance with the nursery policy
· Sending home letters/invoice on time
· Develop professional relationship with parents
· Keeping the room clean and tidy at all times, being responsible for the overall presentation of the room
· Informing manager if equipment needs repairing/replacing
· Discussing areas of improvement with the manager
