Description
We have a new position open for 1 year maternity cover (and potentially stay after) for a deputy manager to join a dynamic team at a thriving nursery West Hampstead, London.
The nursery is open all year around from 8am-6pm. Closing during Christmas break and 5 days during the year for staff training.
Located very close to West Hampstead and Finchley Road Tube Station.
What We Offer:
• Approx £32,000 a year depending on experience
• Full time (40 hours in 5 days or 36 hours in 4 days)

Key qualifications and requirements
• Minimum Level 3
• Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted statutory guidance
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• To work under the direction of the Manager and deputise for him/her as and when required
• To direct and support staff as agreed by the Manager.
Key responsibilities
• To promote the aims and objectives of the nursery
• To promote the high standards of the nursery at all times to parents, staff and visitors
• To assist the Manager in showing parents around the nursery facilities and sending out information
• To ensure the provision of high standards of physical, personal, social and emotional care
• To lead a team of professional workers and to ensure good practice at all times
• To follow the nursery safeguarding procedure to ensure all children are kept safe, well and secure and ensure all team members are able to do the same
• To assist the Manager in setting and implementing objectives and policy for the nursery
• To assist with the planning and organisation of staffing schedules and holiday rotas to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained in accordance with Ofsted guidelines and nursery procedures
• To assist with the implementation of administrative procedures involved with registration, place allocation, and other related matters
• To use the specific training/knowledge of working with babies and children under two years old to support all children’s individual needs
• To be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, planning meetings, monthly staff meetings, parents evening, fundraising events etc.
